This is a short manual for the WallCha program. What is WallCha? Wallpaper Changer in short. If you need more complex description, read the de help below.

When you start the program for the first time, you will see it main interface:

Here is a short description of all options:

  1. In this pane the selected wallpaper is shown actually how it will fit to the desktop window.
  2. How to set the wallpaper - Center - centers the image on the middle of the desktop; Tile - tiles the image and Stretch - stretches the image to fit the desktop. If the size of the image is different from the desktop size see below. Note that Stretch function is programmatically set and is independendat from the OS. (95 don't support stretch, for example).
  3. This option is active if Center is selected as Display Style. If the size of the image is different from the desktop size, if this option is selected then the image will be resized to fit the desktop - will be magnified if it is too small and will be zoomed out if it is too big.
  4. This option and the next 4 options are inactive under Windows XP (TM). Some wallpapers are too dark and some too bright and the default colors becomes obscured into the wallpaper. With the 6, 7 and 8 option you can select the Icon text behaviour.
  5. When wallpaper is set on the desktop, under older OS, like 95,98, ME and 2000, the text under desktop icons have background with color same as the desktop background color. It is too anoying when you select some nice picture. If this option is selected, the background color of the icons will be removed.
  6. If you don't like the color of icons text, you can select a new color from this button.
  7. If you didn't select transparent background for your icons text, here you can select manually one.
  8. Set the selected image as wallpaper now. If nothin is selected from the right list, nothing will be set.
  9. If you choose to remove the wallpaper, here is the right button to do so.
  10. If you know the exact path to the folder with your favourite wallpapers, you can type it here. When press Enter key, the content of the list 12 will be refreshed
  11. If you don't know the path, or if you preffer to browse your hard drive, click this button.
  12. All graphic files in the selected folder are displayed here. Their count is shown in the label above. Clicking on a file or moving the selection with the arrow keys will show a preview of the image on the Preview pane. Pressing the F5 key will refresh the directory content.
  13. If you want an automatic wallpaper changin, you should enable this.
  14. You are a busy, right? You see your wallpaper only when you Log On into the system? Mark this and every time you start your windows session you will be surprised with a new wallpaper.
  15. If you want just a new wallpaper once, mark this. The program will change the wallpaper at your LogOn and quietly will exit leaving no traces in memory. Note: This and the option above are enabled only when the Autochange is Enabled!
  16. Here you can define the amount of time for wallpaper changing....
  17. ... and the dimension. Minutes, Hours or Days.
  18. If you are bored with your wallpaper, click here and a new wallpaper will apear - the next in the queue or random, putting the boredom away.
  19. What will be happened when click once the icon in the tray? If you select this, then a new wallpaper will be set, ...
  20. ... or the program interface will be shown.
  21. If you preffer to the program to stay invisible, doing its job, unmark Icon in tray option.
  22. The program will start hidden with or without icon in tray, depending of the option above, if this is selected.
  23. Every new wallpaper will be randomly selected if this marked or will be the next in the list if this isn't marked.
  24. Hides the program interface. If you choose not to show icon in the tray, you'll need to start the program once again from the shortcut to show it again.
  25. The picture's resolution (dimensions) are shown in the most left portion of the statusbar.
  26. Your desktop (screen) resolution will be shown in the middle portion of the statusbar.
  27. This is the selected mode - User selected folder with wallpapers or User selected list with wallpapers.
  28. This is the window where the list with wallppapers you choose is shown. You can add or delete files from the list. Delete key will remove the selected wallpaper and Insert key will prompt you to add another wallpaper(s). Enter key will set the current image as wallpaper.
  29. As it says - Add more files to the list. You can select a single or multiple fles to add.
  30. Deletes the currently selected file from the list.
  31. Clears the entire list. A confirmation is required.

In the system tray you will see an icon:

- autochange is enabled and the program is ready.

- autochange is enabled and changing is in progress.

- autochange is disabled. You can manually change the wallpaper pushing Change Now button in the main interface or clicking with the right mouse button on the icon in the tray Change wallpaper now.
